Essential Job Functions

  • Lead all banquet operations for conferences, corporate meetings, collegiate groups, athletic teams, social events, banquets, and special resort functions.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for banquet events, ensuring exceptional guest service and flawless event execution from setup through breakdown.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop banquet associates to deliver consistent service and hospitality standards.
  • Review banquet event orders and communicate event details effectively with Culinary, Sales, Front Office, Engineering, and other operational departments.
  • Oversee event room setup and presentation, ensuring all spaces meet client expectations and resort standards.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and provide hands-on support throughout events to ensure service excellence.
  • Monitor banquet staffing, labor costs, and scheduling to align service levels with business demand.
  • Build strong relationships with group contacts, meeting planners, coaches, and event hosts to drive guest satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Ensure accurate event billing, payroll processing, service charge distribution, and operational reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, liquor, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Support overall Food & Beverage operations by overseeing outlet shifts during periods of lower banquet activity, management vacations, or other business needs.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership to achieve departmental financial goals, service standards, and overall guest satisfaction objectives.

 

Wage: Salary | $64,000 - $68,000 annually BOE (Based on Experience)
• Additional earning opportunity through participation in banquet administrative fee distributions.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently walk, stand, bend, and move throughout event spaces for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect event setups, operate banquet equipment, and navigate function spaces safely.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or related degree preferred.

Certifications

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager and TIPS certifications preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum two years of banquet leadership, banquet captain, or food and beverage supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service styles, event execution, food and beverage operations, and guest service standards.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing hourly team members.
  • Proficiency with event orders, scheduling, payroll processes, and banquet operations systems preferred.
