The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is seeking a creative, skilled, guest-focused PM House Person to join its fun-spirited team! Must work evenings and weekends. The 250+ room hotel, with nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, is conveniently located for business and leisure travelers. Our property is just a short drive from the world-famous Mall of America. The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for maintaining all guest-facing and back-of-house public areas in impeccable condition and supporting Room Attendants with linen delivery, trash removal, and supply restocking. This position is essential to cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction throughout the property. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with safety protocols and hotel standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize public restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, stalls, and floors.
- Clean all floors in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, entrances, restaurants, and banquet pre-function areas, using vacuums, mops, and floor machines as needed.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, shelves, and artwork by extending arms overhead, bending, or stooping.
- Polish and clean metal surfaces and glass areas using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and clean ashtrays as needed.
- Replenish restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Deliver clean linens, towels, amenities, and supplies to Room Attendants.
- Remove and transport soiled linens, trash, and recycling from guestroom floors to designated disposal or processing areas.
- Remove all dishware, glassware, and other service items left behind by guests in corridors, service landings, or other common areas. And take to the designated area in the kitchen.
- Stock and maintain housekeeping closets and supply areas to ensure Room Attendants have the necessary items.
- Fulfill and deliver guest requests promptly and accurately (e.g., extra towels, pillows, amenities).
- Assist with deep-cleaning projects and special housekeeping assignments as needed.
- Communicate guestroom maintenance issues to the appropriate department promptly.
Safety & Communication:
- Report suspicious persons, safety hazards, and maintenance needs to the appropriate departments.
- Assist guests and employees during emergencies by providing instructions or directing to safety procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely per training and safety data guidelines.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and safe handling procedures.
- Ability to operate commercial vacuums, polishers, and other cleaning equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to guest service and teamwork in a unionized environment.

- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with union seniority rules and operational needs.
